FullMetal Alchemist continues to be AWESOME.

Oh dear, the thing about people mixing up Ed and Al is becoming a running joke (well... he was kind-of asking for that to happen with a name like 'Fullmetal' and a younger brother who - apparently - wears armor). As is the thing about Ed's (lack of) height and (over)reaction to it being mentioned. How to explain why I'm still laughing? Because I am. The AWESOME is so GREAT it EATS MY HEAD OFF. ♥

... anyway. Just finished with Episodes Nine to Twelve. I nearly couldn't watch, because my playstation's controller is fucked... luckily, landlady's son had one I could borrow. Good, because I NEEDED the FMA-love! Oh, cruel fate! You (nearly) kept me from my FMA!

Anyway. Luckily I got a control pad and could watch and I now appear to have caught up with the timeline as of Episode One, which makes me feel happier and now a lot more able to fangirl than I was: the background is out of the way, so hooray, I'm now actually dealing with the plot and the Philosopher's Stone and such and nothing I'd own particularly freaky happened in this one even if someone did steal a golden toilet, and why do I get the feeling it's only going to get so much worse from here on in?

OMG, LOVE FOR THE SHOW. Devious!Ed is so great. And Roy. Roy Roy Roy, you make me smile. ♥

Ack, he gets angst later doesn't he? I know he does. kay_cricketed told me so it must be true. From what I know of what happens in the series, and the stuff I've seen so far, I can see the promise so much angst on the horizon, and it worries me at the same time as it DELIGHTS ME WITH MASSIVE AWESOMENESS. Mm. Ed-angst.

Mildly relieved that we were back with light humor and mild angst and a bit of tension as far as these episodes go because I know for a fact there's a lot, an obscene LOT of angst and drama and death and general soul-wrenching torment to come and I see no need to hasten it on. Though the stuff about the guy in the mountains and Fake!Ed and Fake!Al was pretty creepified in parts. Especially when Lust showed up (I have a very good bad feeling about Lust and her buddies and dearly want to see more of them). Though the dirndl really didn't suit her...

... Actually, Fake!Ed was rather hot.

I knew I should not have watched the Episode 13 preview. Not only because damn it, I can't watch it yet bur also because during the course of it Ed and Roy appear to have a fight. A proper, serious, planned, confrontation-style fight. Oh my God, who am I supposed to be rooting for here?! And how am I going to stand waiting another 3 months for DVD four to be released so I can see it and SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST WITH FANGIRL LOVE?

I'm about ready to combust at the sheer thought.

OMG. Ed. Fighting. Roy.

... I'm amazed at how quietly Al can move considering he's a suit of armor. Oh. And he's cute, too. Though (for some bizarre, unfathomable reason) I keep getting the feeling that if he got his body back, he'd probably be taller than Ed. Dunno why, but I just keep getting that feeling and I can't shake it for the life of me...

When's Envy going to show up? Flicked through the first few volumes of the manga and Envy in a mini-skirt owns my soul in a strange and bizarre kind of way. He really is the hottest thing to ever wear a mini-skirt, and his way with skin-tight navel-baring tops is second only to Youji's. But he looks much hotter in a mini-shirt than Youji could ever do so it all balances out and hot damn, he's got an evil grin! All that and a frackin' SEXY EVIL GRIN, are they trying to KILL me here?

Actually... I'd DEFINITELY let Envy kill me. ♥

Oh, by the way: COLONEL ROY MUSTANG, YOU ARE THE COOLEST THING IN THE WORLD. EVER.
...Except perhaps for liquid nitrogen.

(Why do I get the feeling Roy wanted to go East because he'd be able to slack off more easily?)

... I'm waiting on Havoc too. Something in me seems to want to like Havoc.

Thankfully, I barely saw Winry. Sorry, but Winry still annoys me. She's just... blah, why is she there? You don't notice her when she's not there, so why does it matter if she is there? I don't get that at all.

Okay, so someone has to fix Ed's automail, but can't she just show up when she has to do that then go away again? Hawkeye is so much better. Hawkeye's been in it only slightly more than Winry has and I already KNOW I find her unbearably cool and would fangirl her madly if I didn't know she'd SHOOT ME DEAD for trying. It's not because Winry's a girl, it's just because she's Winry. They couldn't have found her a more annoyingly shrill voice actress if they'd done it deliberately. I hate to think what dub!Winry sounds like.

Remind me never to succumb to my Trainwreck Syndrome and watch the dub tracks. Partly because I hate dubbed anime just as a matter of course and even when it's done well, it just never quite works for me. That aside, I've heard from a number of unnamed (livejournal) sources that the FullMetal Alchemist dub is really pretty diabolical and as such should not be listened to by anyone.

... so, definitely not by someone who thinks Roy's Japanese VA should be given a prize for making something as hot as Roy Mustang EVEN MORE SO WHEN HE OPENS HIS MOUTH?

Roy is pure sex when he speaks. AND HE CONTINUES TO WEAR HIS COAT. ♥ ♥ ♥

Oh my God. The coats. Ed in a coat. Roy in a coat. Hawkeye in a coat. No uniform has the right to look that awesome. I want to be in the Amestrian army, just so I get to wear that coat! It's almost worth the price of admission just for the sheer sex appeal of those overcoats! Roy Mustang is sexier in his overcoat than most men are when they're stark naked.

... though the thought of a stark naked Roy does have its appeal too. Mm. Nekkid Roy. ♥ I--
