The Wonders of the Internet
For some reason I'm still in Kent with my parents. I was meant to be going home today, but last night I decided that I didn't want to. I'll probably be heading back to London on Wednesday. Or Thursday at the very latest. What can I say, I change my mind about what I want to do quickly.

Sometimes I think I could really get to loathe the Internet. It took me god knows how long to get a viable form field to update my LJ tonight, though God knows why this should be the case. Still, every time I tried to get the wretched thing to update, I got a wonderfully confusing page telling me my update had been successful, but no field to actually type a new entry in. Yes, it makes no sense at all.

Now fanfiction.net won't let me in to upload 'Stasis', which was only the whole point of this update. What's doubly annoying is that [livejournal.com profile] arldetta has updated her wonderful 'Mend My Heart' and I want to review it, but ff.net is being so irritating tonight that it won't even give me the chance of doing an unsigned review. What the hell is the problem with that site? Just recently, it seems to be having stability issues beyond the wildest dreams of - who the Hell dreams of server trouble, though?

Consequently, I'm beginning to wonder if it wouldn't be a really good idea to take a firm hold of this computer and sling it out of the window. Sadly, that wouldn't even be terribly satisfying as my family's PC lurks in the basement, so it wouldn't even get a chance to make a satisfying crashing noise as it powered into the ground at excessive speeds.

As if that wasn't bad enough, my parents' computer screen is on its way out. This means that the thing has a tendency to horriplate alarmingly in front of the eyes. Spend too long staring at it and it induces headaches, nervous tension and various other symptoms indicating that one is slipping into an altered state. Does anyone else out there remember Magic Eyes? This is a Magic Eye Monitor. Stare into its depths and squint, and I'll probably end up seeing a completely different, stereoscopic image of a browser page appear as if by magic. Never mind that I could never make Magic Eyes work. This is different and special. Ooh, I think I see something coming now...

I love technology. No, really.

Oh well. I'll give this a little while longer and see if ff.net decides to pull itself together. I really want to post 'Stasis' tonight, but going by the way I haven't seen any fics archived from today at all it's looking like there might be some major issues going on there - meaning my updating schedule is probably shot and it's only the first night. I know - I'll go read lousy movie reviews while I wait to see if it recovers. Too bad nobody's panned 'The Interpreter' yet - the Guardian did a wonderful job at spearing it, and I'd have liked to see more. Oh well, with any luck the bad ones'll be coming. There's no way that thing can get a clean sheet when it sounds like such a pile of nonsense.

Speaking of movies: This had better be good, or I'm going to cry.

You know, I think it's just me. EVERY time I update after a break something happens and I can't get any feedback which drives me absolutely crazy!! I mean, a writer lives for reviews. I would have to call it my secondary addiction. First of course is Angst. ;) But I can't wait to read what people think. It's horrible. Like 5 minutes after I post I get the urge to check my e-mail. And I do it constantly over and over until I get something. Then I get all happy and start all over again. With ff.n being down, I'm ripping my hair out! I want feedback and this is really hindering my muse! ;___;;;; WAHHHH!!!!!!

On a side note, does that mean more of Seuche is done? please. I need more. I want KenAngst! AAHHHHHH!!! ;__;;;;;; OK, shutting up now. ;)

I've not got much more of 'Seuche' done unfortunately: what I have managed to do is finish my one-shots, which will leave me free to get on with my proper fic again. So that's good news. But - and it's a pretty damn big 'but', I think - I feel I've left you guys hanging with 'Seuche' for so long and I'm so desperate to get an update out that I am going to sacrifice a bit of my lead for the sake of it (I don't need to be five chapters ahead: four will do just as well). So, provided ff.net plays ball, I am going to be posting a hell of a lot in the next few days. The schedule runs -

  • Monday: Posting one-shot 'Stasis'
  • Tuesday: Posting one-shot 'Resurgence' (this is the one with the sex scene in)
  • Wednesday: Posting updates for 'Seuche' and 'Honey Trap'

As long as ff.net stops acting up, that is (I'm staggering posting because HTML-ising my fics gives me such a headache). Anyway, now you know. With any luck, as I'm a fair way into my latest chapter, this means you won't have to wait that much longer for the Dreaded Chapter 15 with all the Schunesses in it. I'll try not to let you down! ^^

And, although I am going to review, I just thought I'd mention that I really, really liked the latest chapter. I'm not primarily a Ran x Ken fan but I've gotta admit that I do like the way you write them. So cute. I loved the scenes in the shop, and of course I am delighted to know that there is more angst coming up1 Don't worry if you have to lay off the plot twisting for a while, for the sake of fleshing out the relationships. I think we all have to do that from time to time. Great chapter, and I can't wait to see how things pan out from here!

YEAH!!!!!! More Seuche!!!!! =^______^= Damn ff.n! Fix now! Oooo, you know, I never really considered myself a Schu-girl. But then again he's got some twisted mind games going on. It's funny, a little while ago I was thinking about MMH and was saying, Schu kinda reminds me of Scorpius from Farscape. He's always thinking ten steps ahead and each step is more sinister than the last. Now that would be a fun fic to write. Schu as scorpy. Oh the plots they could put into action. And the torment too. *sigh*

Anyway, I consider myself a RanKen girl but YoKen is just as good. ;) Although I find Yoji harder to write than Ran, which is why I don't use him often. And Omi even less. I like the YoKen dynamic you have going in Seuche. I really can't wait to see how Yoji tells Ken and what happens when they have to face the reality of what happened. I love Yoji's concern. I re-read the story this past weekend and I was just as happy this time around as the first. I sooo can't wait for more.

Yeah, well, I'm not much of a romance writer so all this relationship building is boring for me, and I'm writing it! I want action! I want pain! Specifically Ken's pain! But I realize that the muse wants certain things out first. Then I can get back to my first love. ;) Oh well, hopefully I've hit that point again in the story. If only my muse didn't skip out on me again. grr. Oh well. Hopefully ff.n will correct itself soon or else I'm gonna freak out. :(

In the meantime, keep writing! ~_^

I'm so thrilled that you're planning on putting up 'Stasis' tonight- I hope that ff.net stops being a shit and lets you post. It's been shitty to me too lately; I had wanted to leave some reviews for fics last night and I couldn't, so I gave up.

And your posting schedule makes me giddy- something to read each day for the next few days! Just what I need to get me through the week; it seems the closer I get to the end of the school year, the more stressed out I become. And your stories are a great stress reliever. Sigh. Ken Angst. Hooray.

I know what you mean about the irritation that is ff.net. I'm getting tired and want to go to bed yet I want to post as well. I don't think I did badly with those one-shots and I really want to get some feedback on them. Especially the sex one. Heh.

Sadly, I'm not holding my breath. I just checked the WK archives and the last updates that were out were all from yesterday (the 17th). Nothing at all up there for today, suggesting this is a symptom of yet another major server issue. You'd think they'd post something about it on the front of the site, really. Frankly, I'm getting quite pissed off about all the crashes and downtime they've been having lately. What is wrong with that site at the moment?

Aggravatingly, one of the fics that has managed an update is - yup, you guessed it - 'Angel's Love'. Sigh!

At least I managed to join your community, so the evening hasn't been a complete write-off. When I get back to London, I'm going to make another random Ken icon just to use there.

T_T I waited on msn for you. *sniff*

    >_> Doof. You're supposed to let me know these things! ; ; I feel very unloved without email. I even have the week off from work so I don't have to do work for the kids or anything! buuu
