A Quick Change Of Plans.
I shouldn't be so horribly pleased to have managed to find a random duet by Shin'chiro Miki and Tomokazu Seki. But I am. I worry myself with my fangirlishness sometimes, so God only knows what I look like to other people.

Anyway. Remind me never to try and edit the color scheme on this journal again.

You see, my journal wasn't ever meant to be gray. It was meant to be a sort of grayish-blueish-purplish-can't-make-my-mind-up kind of color. But it's gray because Livejournal doesn't like displaying interesting colors. It hasn't heard of subtlety, or if it has it wants absolutely no truck with it. It seems to prefer beat-you-over-the-head-until-you-plead-for-mercy stridency and it won't let you try and tell it otherwise, as I just found out to my layout's cost.

So I tried to edit it, didn't I? And utterly fouled it up. And it looked horrible. All sugary blues and purples of the I am a huge and hideous fanbrat school. So I was defeated and had to change it back. But aha, laila is an idiot and as such forgot to make a note of the colors she'd got rid of. So I had to spend God knows how long trying to get everything back the way it was before. And even now I'm still not sure I've done it right.

But then I was bored.

See, I wanted to change my layout colors without actually having to radically change my layout, because I like this layout and lack the skill to make a pretty one of my own like [livejournal.com profile] vermachtnis always does, because she has the power. I like the little boxes for user icons and stuff like that. So going for a new layout and hoping that took to another color scheme was a no-no. Bah.

So I went and made all my links and titles and stuff like that red, because I like red and gray and think it looks striking, and it kind of goes with this icon set I made and still like, even if none of them are my default and I don't use them all that often anyway. Because I wanted to, also the color I used for links last time made them hard to see amongst all the text, and I was bored with having an entirely gray livejournal, which makes me loook either boring or pretentious depending on how you view the color gray. Plus, I don't have any entirely grayscale icons any more.

Right. Now I've spent way too long down here, I think I'm going to go make food and try and carry on writing my fanfic. I keep trying to do that, but it just never seems to happen for some reason. Oh well, I managed 600 words of Roses in Rain this afternoon, so I guess that's better than nothing.

And I still want to watch Weiss Kreuz again.

Badly.

And does anyone know where I can find a decent Youji x Ken fic?

There's also an Aya/Schu/Crawford companion piece to Seeing the Light called "Embracing the Shadows," that makes Aya's actions a little less... asshole-ish.

I write Youji/Ken! But no one ever reads it. In general, I don't know many people who will read Youji/Ken as a pairing of choice. Makes no sense to me, either.

It's completely your fault that I actually went to read that Sailor Schweiss fic.. I think my brain melted out my ears. o_O

Hm. I might have to go read that fic because Aya - well, he was an asshole. And I think Ken should have smacked him, not Youji. But at least they got it sorted out in the end (yay! my Youji x Ken shipper's soul revels in it) maybe when I get round to reading the companion piece all will become clear. But I should really try and go write now, so I'll do it later. Damn my badfics journal, it eats my time like I can't believe and I just love it.

Ooh, if you write Youji x Ken, I'd read it. Do you have a profile anyplace so I could go read it?

... you're right, there aren't many people who'll take Youji x Ken as a main pairing. It's quite sad really. Not least of which because I've seen people who are only into the fandom casually and would never write fic mention that they like it and they can't think why the fandom scrambles all over itself to write RanKen all the time. Seriously, why do so many of the popular Weiss pairings make no sense at all? Most things with Aya are tricky looking at the canon, IMO, because he's just so isolated...

I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that to your brain. I just... gah, I had to find someplace to go vent my pain and frustration, because otherwise I think I'd have gone a-flaming all in the month of May, then followed it up by seeing if I could get ff.net to smack said fic with the Ban Hammer for being script-format. At least I had somewhere to go vent.

Aya had..... stuff going on. I really didn't like him much in that fic until the end, at which point Embracing the Shadows was in progress.

I have most of my fic up on my journal... everything I've written is in my memories, somewhere, but I'm not sure how much Youji/Ken I've posted. I try not to put things up anymore unless they're complete. In case I never finish it. ^_^;

Do you have a separate journal for writing? I'd love to see your stuff. (On the topic of Aya, I think... It's more fun in general to write weird or unlikely pairings, because it's a challenge to get the people together.)

Don't worry about the brain-melting, it happens a lot. ^_^

I decided I could forgive Aya during that club scene because his behavior was just so brain-explodingly off, yet at the same time amazingly funny. I suspect there is a reason we never see Aya drunk. I suspect that reason is that, where he's concerned, drunkenness is like a -10,000 loss to his Charisma score (I can't believe he's any good at it). In short, it would do irreparable harm to his image and knows that, and he never wants his teammates to find this out. I really will have to read the prequel at some point...

I should probably do that 'not posting until done' thing with my fics, but if I did that I'd never post anything at all. Well. Except for one-shots. Anytime I try anything longer it seems to take approximately three ice ages for me to finish. My current long WIP has been officially ongoing since sometime in 2004. I'm hoping to finish it this year, sometime. Maybe. I'm pathetic at this.

(Really, I should be writing right now, but I'm not. Sigh.)

I'll have to check your memories out if that's where you keep your stuff. If only I could stop forgetting the Memories function existed, I'd probably find some interesting things that way... buit if that's where you keep it, I'll have to make sure toi check it out.

As for my stuff? Well... I don't post enough writing to have a seperate journal for it. I'm horribly slow where this stuff is concerned. If you want to read it I generally just stick most of it up, out of sheer habit, up on my Pit of Voles Profile (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/312150/). I know. Shame, horror, et cetera, I've been a member since before the site started to royally suck, forgive me. Oh, and I've got one thing (http://www.adultfanfiction.net/aff/authors.php?no=1296786172) up at Ye Olde Pit of Porn because I didn't think the Pit would like it. And exactly the same stuff again posted up at my homepage, which I suspect nobody ever visits, along with some really terrifying older things that nobody should even look at.

Anyway, that's where I keep it, if you want to read it. I hope you think at least some of it's okay and nowhere near as brain-melting as Sailor Schweiss...

I love it when people get Aya drunk. It's always amusing.

Aw, you're not so bad. I've got a few WIPs that have been sitting around since 2001 or earlier. I still intend on finishing them all, but... I just fall out of the mood of stories, and have to wait for it to roll back around. Because there's nothing worse than reading something where you know the author was forcing it out.

Yay, Pit of Voles! I shall read!
