Was about to post asking if anyone had seen, heard from or read about the irreplaceable kay_cricketed any time lately, but signing on this morning I see I don't have to, because she is around. Just buried under 10,000 tons of college work, by the sounds of it. But definitely around, so - good.

She's clearly intact enough to be leaving me comments on the general theme of Ken, so I guess that means all is as it should be on that front. Which means i don't have to see if the whole Livejournal 'nudge' thingy works after all. So I'm a paranoiac - sorry, Kay.

Okay.

So. Am having minor excursions into fanfic again. Need to stop procrastinating over Seuche. I will get that out ASAP, I promise. I just need to write it (I know what's going to happen, it's just making it happen. Goddamn action scenes... why do they have to be such a pain to write? I guess I just need to bite the bullet and get on with it. I'm so near the end now that it just seems goddamn lazy to be procrastinating to this extent. Looks like my 'around 30 chapters' prediction was pretty much right, given that I'm working on Chapter 26 as we speak.

(I cannot believe this fic is over 200 pages long.)

Am also planning to post the prologue and opening chapter of my Mary Sue parody soon - I need to be a bit ahead of myself so I have time to make revisions, but I'm about halfway through Chapter Three so when that's done I'll be posting the prologue and first chapter together (reason being that the prologue is very short and, though I want that to be a separate chapter in its own right, I don't feel it's long enough to be a good introduction for the story in and of itself. There's not enough Stupid Annoying Mary Sue in it for one).

Seriously, I hate this Mary Sue of mine. She's just so wonderful she's a pain in the ass. Which is probably why most of the fic's focusing on Ken, who also dislikes her. Yes, there is a reason why he's taken against her. And it's plot-driven, not just because I like him, and like it when he's pissed off and is being very much ignored by his teammates.

... As if the fact that I'm writing this fic wasn't clue enough by now.

But there's not enough of it, damn it, and I intend to reverse that trend. Someone else can write the genfic. Barely anybody actually writes for my OTP so I've got a job to do. Someone's got to do it and the way I see it I've got more of a chance of getting people to See It My Way through fanfic than I have by any other method. It's propaganda, damn it.

Okay, will stop filling your friends list with this total nonsense now (still, it's slightly less nonsensical than the thing about Calico not being a breed, so perhaps that's something to be said for it...) and go do something productive instead. Though I'm going to have lunch first, because I'm hungry. And I guess I need to check fanficrants too...

No. Must be strong. And productive.
