... well, that was very bad timing by Livejournal.

So, here I was innocently tooling with HTML and tables and burying myself in all my usual obsessive, anal-retentive desire to make my Livejournal updates look pretty when all of a sudden the site's database inconsiderately suffered a massive stroke and up and died, or at least fell into a sudden and horrible whitescreen coma of GIVE ME MY ENTRY BACK. This is not what you want to have happen when you're working on an update and hitting 'preview' every five seconds, as I tend to. Still, the trauma seems to be past and the patient appears to be recovering, at least until the next seizure. Thankfully.

It shouldn't have taken me anywhere near as long as it did to finish this update even with LJ going into conniptions, but hey: I'm nothing if not ridiculously over-scrupulous when it comes to my journal posts. As to what I am doing and why... well, here's a pretty meme that came through my friendslist yesterday evening and I immediately 'oooh, shiny'ed over, because it looked fun and right now even I want a respite from my RL issues and whining. Besides I'll take any excuse to go on about my icons, of which I feel the urge to make more - but I don't want to do them just yet, when right now I really feel like writing and that, for me, is something I need to make the most of while I feel the urge.

... damn, this was actually a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. Largely because it was really hard for me to choose for some of these. I nearly used this icon for the saddest, and these two both very nearly ended up as the cutest, for example, before I decided that I had to have my adorable 'what's this box for?' icon there. (As did, because I have a lot of massively cute Ken Icons, this one and this one.) Except for 'best textless', that was easy, because I have all of one decent textless icon uploaded and it's my 'yay, femmeslash!' one.

I also made some of this shit up. Honestly, I have no damned idea which of my userpics I use most or least often, so I just picked a couple of pretty ones, one of which I knew I kind of overused, the other of which I either keep forgetting I actually have uploaded or simply haven't found a good opportunity to use they despite how much I happen to like it. I'm probably way off as regards both of them, but how the Hell else am I supposed to work out which out of well over 100 userpictures I've used most often on what must be a 1000-plus entry journal? Oh, and I lied about my favorite but I already used a lot of my favorite icons already, didn't want to repeat any, and I really do like that 'it's a cold world' one a lot.
