Warning: This Update is Pointless
Whee. I have had a productive kind of - few hours of it. When I haven't been sleeping, and I seem to have spent a good part of the last day or so asleep, which I guess means I was far more tired than I realized, I have been in a Doing Things kind of mood. It's a shame that most of those things have been kind of stupid, but hey! productivity is productivity! So, what exactly have I been doing? Well...

  • I dyed my hair.

  • This is what I am most proud of. My hair, naturally, isn't naturally jet black. I'm English, so my natural hair color is the Indiscriminate Mouse that leads so many English girls to dye their hair. However, unlike most of them, I'm not dyeing it blonde. I dye it black. And I have the complexion to suit it, so much so that when my roots aren't showing a lot of people assume my hair is naturally black. I'm pale skinned and grey eyes, though, so this may have something to do with it. Apparently, I look Irish. Kind of cool for a girl from Kent, huh? I envy my mother sometimes... she has great Celtic looks including gorgeous chocolate-brown hair and fine bones, and I got stuck with my dad's blonde-ish nothing and broad-shouldered, thick-waisted peasant figure. Bah. Well, it's done now, so whee.

statistic of the day #1: 65% of the hair dye sold in the UK is some shade of blonde. The other 35% comprises of every single other color on the market.

  • I vacuumed my room.

  • Another thing I have been putting off like a good'un for the past... yeesh, I have no idea. I hate vacuuming so much I'd rather scrape dust bunnies off the floor by hand than drag the Dyson out of the cupboard and have to deal with it eating the rug that's over a good 70% of my floor. Besides, vacuuming is boring. Getting off my ass and doing that thing makes me feel pretty damn pleased with myself.

statistic of the day #2: 95% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

  • I wrote stuff.

  • I am just over halfway through Chapter 16 of my Ridiculously Long and Evil Weiss Kreuz fanfic, which is good. If I keep this up I should be done with that chapter pretty soon, which is no bad thing considering that I've only been working on it a few days. Considering how long Chapter 15 took to finish, I'm quite impressed with myself. I enjoy writing that fic far too much, considering how utterly evil I am to most of the cast, or at least most of the cast who aren't complete bastards (Schuldich is having a pretty good time, for example, which scares me).

Anyway, way to go me for doing things. Of course, I have been doing a few other things, including eating delicious bagels (mmm... bagels), finishing an immensely long post for an email RP, sleeping, as I have already mentioned, a lot, reading a few more chapters of 'Out', the novel I have been stalled on for a while never mind that I'm really enjoying it, and played some Dead or Alive 2 to sublimate my need for Sonic the Hedgehog games - I get paid in just under a week! Now, can I hold out that long? - and get me in the mood for writing an upcoming fight scene. Written down, it actually looks like quite a lot. Wow.

Considering I spend most of my weekends doing nothing at all, I'm kind of impressed with myself.

(Oh... I just found out from [livejournal.com profile] devida's LJ that Arthur Miller died. I love his work, so that's pretty sad. I saw 'All My Sons' at the National Theatre and loved it to bits. Great, great play. I loved 'The Crucible', too - I had to read that for A-Level... or was it GCSE? Can't remember. But I really enjoyed it all the same. Went to see a performance at a theatre in Canterbury and was absolutely spellbound, so much so that I barely noticed what a bunch of noisy bastards most of the other schoolkids there were. Apparently most kids these days have no idea that theatres are not cinemas, which is kind of sad - my dad, however, is a drama teacher so I have seen far more than my fair share of plays. I like theatre, though. Anyway, rest in peace, Arthur Miller...)
