I don't know what I'm singing, but I'm singing it anyway!
Yay!

I dyed my hair today. This is good, because it always gives me the impression of having done something productive. Not least of which because it takes two boxes of hair dye and something like two and a half frackin' hours to do it. I have no idea quite how or when my hair got this long, but it does rather seem to have done so.

Still, my hair looks nice now. I dyed the whole length for once, having the second box on hand, and now it's all black and shiny again. As opposed to kind of black and regrettably ash blonde - well, indiscriminately mousy would be a better description - at the roots. Lucky for me I'm pretty pallid and still technically young, so I can pull off dyeing my hair this dark (I've already decided, though, that when I get too old to pull off 'cosmic blue' hair dye - well, it's just black really, but with a blueish sheen which stays for all of two washes - I'm just going to start dyeing it dark brown instead). When my roots aren't showing, some people think it looks natural. Incidentally, I have gray eyes, so I guess they've taken me for Irish.

Though a lot of people seem rather surprised that someone whose hair is naturally ash blonde would want to go darker. Most people go lighter. Or rather, they go blonde. Personally, I can't see the appeal in blonde hair. It's never really done much for me on other people and would do even less for me on me.

/inane hair dye rant

Anyway. I can feel myself surrendering to pointlessness again now I've got that covered. Why am I talking about my hair dye anyway? I guess I should just admit to the fact that I am a deeply, deeply boring individual and stop pretending to be otherwise. But damn, I'm happy about having better dyed hair.

... oh, and it appears that the infallible [livejournal.com profile] quentin_w has struck again. A handwriting meme!

Handwriting Analysis

The results of your analysis say:
You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
You are a shy, idealistic person who does not find it easy to have relationships, especially intimate ones.
You are affectionate, passionate, expressive, and future-oriented.
You are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody!
You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.

What does your handwriting say about YOU?

Okay, so it's pretty stupid. But it's fun.

... I told you my handwriting was horribly horrible. Believe me, it doesn't look much better when I'm not trying to write with a mouse. Can you imagine transcribing nine pages (not sides) of notebook covered in that scrawl? At about half the size? When the owner (me) is being jolted about on a damned bus with so-so suspension? Well, yeah. That's why I should probably stop trying to write on buses.

(Incidentally, to spare your eyes from deciphering that mess what I have written is: I could tell you my name, but then I'd have to kill you. Damn, is it hard to write with a mouse.)

Because everyone else is doing it and I am nothing if not a lemming...

January
I didn't exist. Really. Because I didn't get my livejournal until Februaury.

February
... of the emergency broadcast system.
Yes, I know I sound gushy, but I really love it when people say they enjoy my writing.

March
-- and it goes by the name of Service Users' Apartments.
Oh well.

April
Whoopee.
I have no choice but to surrender to the cuteness.

May
Ugh.
Now I must be off - further boredom awaits.

June
I have seen three people reading The Da Vinci Code on the bus in the last 24 hours.
Oh, and before I forget: :)

July
[possibly undeserving paranoia mode: on]
I'm going to bed.

August
I'm tired, I'm bored and god damn did I but know there was no point in coming in to college today.
Food and sleep are my friends.

September
The irony about nurses is that come an emergency outside a hospital and most of us (okay some of us, okay one of us namely me) are worse than useless.
*falls apart in a heap of debility*

October
It's cold in this room.
HELP ME OUT HERE SOMEBODY.

November
I've just got home after a night shift and discovered I left my keys at work.
Feel free to point and laugh - the little hellspawn, and the idiot I was at twelve, both deserve it.

December
I am alive.
Hope you enjoy it.

I honestly couldn't have gotten the hellish experience that was July down better if I'd tried.

... seems pretty accurate if you ask me, since the complaints about my (numerous) episodes of sickness, my random idiocy (I can't believe the thing about forgetting my keys and having to sleep on the floor made it into the summary. Oh, the not-so-secret shame!) and tendency to whine about nursing all come across loud and clear. As does the fact I write fanfiction. Only problem: lack of Ken. Oh well, at least it amused me. Which admittedly isn't particularly hard.

2005: Good in parts. But hey, if nothing else, at least I met cool people in it.
