And now to chance my luck.
In the wake of finally finishing Through a Glass Darkly I have decided to try, in the vernacular, to push my luck a little bit... at least as far as fanfiction goes.

See, I have a casefic I want to write. The working title is Bitter Nocturne. Those of you as talk to me via IM may have heard a little bit about this story: the basic gist of the idea is that it owes its existence to my wanting to play with the whole concept of Weiss Kreuz supernatural fiction a little. There's a lot of it about out there, but I've not been very impressed by what I've seen so far and, simply put, I believe that I can do it better. I'm vain like that.

So, what does this have to do with pushing my luck? Well, it's really very simple. In the style of [livejournal.com profile] weissday and other timed fic challenges, I am going to attempt to write the entire fic this month.

I should, theoretically, be able to manage this. I completed my [livejournal.com profile] weissday assignment on time, despite the fact that I was ill on several occasions during the month I had to write it, and all-too-frequently stressed out my tiny mind. Earlier this year, I also managed to satisfy my need to write a Valentine's day fanfic by completing 2/14: The Florist's Tale in under a week. I know damn well that I can write quickly when I feel like it, and when I can actually be bothered to concentrate instead of messing around on Gaia. I should, therefore, theoretically be perfectly capable of completing this casefic within the next 31 days. I have the outline all ready to run; I have the prologue finished. There is - in theory, anyway - no reason why I should be incapable of completing it if I just put my mind to it and stop messing about on Gaia so much.

The difficulty, of course, lies in putting theory into practice,. Watch this space, if you will/dare.
