uniquewonders certainly lives up to their username.

I'm utterly amazed by how patient and helpful this person has been to me, especially considering that I'm a complete stranger to them. If you need proof of how amazingly tolerant and supportive this particular online entity has been with me and my utter cluelessness, here it is. I wouldn't be that amazingly patient in my attempts to solve total stranger's problem.

My journal layout has gone from 'largely borked' to 'largely working'. I've got the navigation links on my main page and friends page and in entry view mode, the tags index is in the right place on the page, the calender links are properly aligned and the 'comment on entry' form is no longer a complete mess but actually looks rather handsome. The only thing they couldn't solve for me was the problem this layout has displaying user pictures in threaded comments, which will have to be resolved by some other individual at some other time.

(Yeah, I'm getting sick of tinkering. That particular issue can wait a little while.)

Until then, I'm just going to have to turn off the individual userpics in comment threads. Which is a bit trying because I like seeing them, but unfortunately having them there has a tendency to break my layout. Still, at least turning them off largely solves the problem, unlike all the rest of it which was borked and just sat there being borked, because nothing I could do made the damnedst bit of difference to the way it displayed.
