This should not be a source of irritation. But, ah, but I'm a fangirl, remember? I don't know how I should handle this one - if I should be pouting like a madwoman because I am so frackin' jealous or hassling the both of them for information, dammit, because I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. Well, really I need to see the show but no chance of that for any number of reasons, so I'm just going to sit here and pout for a bit because I'm fangirly and adore Ken and am now feeling massively thwarted. I tried to download that OAV over Christmas but I couldn't find it anywhere and now I am annoyed.

I'm also annoyed by the fact that Weiss Kreuz has not had a UK release and, by the looks of things, isn't ever going to. That show's been out for how long in America now? Well, we haven't even seen the first DVD over here nor have we hard anything about anyone planning to release said first DVD, making me suspect it's just not going to get released any time ever. Nope. Seems like the distribution companies would rather be putting out yet another DVD version of that most overrated of modern anime series, Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Note to releasing bods: We are not so enamored of Shinji Ikari and his lolita-esque fellow pilots that we need something like four different versions of the same series in general release.

I cannot believe anyone would be such a pathetic fanboy as to actually buy the same DVD series several times over just because the new versions came with, le gasp, a different goddamned box and has the word 'platinum' in the title in an attempt to convince the fanbrats they're getting something new for their money. Come on. Surely everyone who wants to see that show's already got a hold of it by now, or has easy access to someone who does have it? Surely there simply isn't that much of a market for this stuff? We do not need yet another re-release because come on, people, IT'S THE SAME GODDAMNED SHOW.

And it's been available for years. WE DO NOT NEED IT TO BE RELEASED AGAIN.

Further note to releasing bods: Girls watch anime. Not that you'd know this when you seem so hellbent on saturating the market with gorefests, cyberpunk horror and hentai and ignoring damn near everything else.

Anyway, needless to say, this also pisses me off a bit because my Weiss Kreuz fansubs were never of the greatest quality anyway and are only getting worse with watching, and it looks like the only I'm going to be able to get a hold of a decent copy of the eps will require me to buy a region-free DVD player and import the discs from America. And that is, of course, going to prove to be rather expensive.

Oy. All this over an anime which common fangirl consensus says is not very good and I have nine shades of adoration for anyway. Yes, I know how stupid this show is. And it isn't even my guilty pleasure fandom. It's just my fandom. And I DON'T CARE.

Sorry about ranting like that. I'm just pissed off because I'm a frustrated, frustrated fangirl who wants to buy stuff and watch it and I can't, and also some bastard stole my sandwich when I was coming from the canteen just now.

Anyway. What else has been happening in my life? Regrettably, not a lot. The weekend was earmarked for me to write fic in but instead I ended up doing laundry. Yup, for the best part of two days I did laundry and it kind of stopped me from managing anything else. Still, I'm on Chapter Three of my Mary Sue parody, I've been writing Seuche on the bus again and I've finally worked out what I'm doing about that opening-ficlet-thingy-whatever-you-call-it I wrote about Kase and Ken, so maybe there's hope for my creativity chip yet.
