I have been a busy girl today. Very busy.
I cleaned my bedroom. My God, I've caught the spring cleaning bug and I got it early. It really seems to be my year for catching things, huh? Anyway, I got it. What started out as an attempt to hoover the floor (see previous entries for how much I hate this goddam job) turned into a full-scale dust and clean and mammoth laundry session. I am exhausted. The problem is the sun. After weeks in hiding it decided to light up my bedroom like an arc lamp and leave me ridiculously self-conscious about the amount of dirt, dust and assorted grime that had decided to throw a convention there for the best part of the winter.
It's hard to believe how much garbage there can be in a self-consciously tidy room.
I am looking forward to going to bed in my nice clean sheets, with my nice clean pajamas, with my nice clean hair. Yes, I've dusted and polished everything that came to hand, up to and including myself. Well, I needed it after exposing myself to all that dust. I feel much better for it. I guess seeing that guy's dirty and horrible apartment earlier this week really spurred me to getting my act together with my own room. Well, I'm glad it's done.
I also finally finished reading 'Out', the novel I've been reading slowly for the last few weeks simply because I wanted to savor it. I'm normally a fast reader but damn me, this book was too good to rush. Murder and mayhem amongst the employees of a boxed-lunch facory in some unnamed Tokyo suburb... yum. I have a real appetite for the Gothic.
Plus, good news for the fanfic crowd, all one of you (hi, Vermachtnis! ^^). I'm getting very near the end of my latest fic part and so will be able to update this thing on schedule just like I said. Roll on Monday week. ^^ Damn, I'm sad, but I do like writing this fanfic.
